Yasmine Akim
I am a graduate from The London College of Communication, where I studied a BA (Hons) in Photography. Since graduating I have worked as a freelance photojournalist and a lighting assistant on various editorial photo-shoots and documentary filming days, I have completed an editorial internship with Dazed and Confused Magazine as an arts and culture writer and researcher where I specialised in photography and moving image. I have worked as a communications assistant for the University of the Arts London on a temporary contract, and a content developer for Shades of Noir (photography, journalism and strategy).
I believe that this particular role would suit me well as I have a solid passion for studio lighting and I am always keen to learn more; I am looking to expand my skills in all aspects of commercial studio photography. I am applying for this role as my aim and ambition is to develop my career by learning new skills, I am looking for a challenging role that utilizes my existing skill set while facilitating growth both personally and professionally.
I enjoy being a part of a productive team and work well independently; I like to see myself as a creative problem solver. Due to my work experience with operating several forms of software and working under tight deadlines, I strongly believe that I would be able to pick up the multitasking aspect of this role quickly. I hope, therefore, that in consideration of my application, you will be persuaded of my potential to perform well and to make a real contribution to your company. I am available for an interview at any time and I look forward to hearing from you in due course.
